Boat trip to the Island

To access the Island, visitors need to take a boat trip from the city of Vlore and 3 Fiori  offers affordable trips to Sazan Island. Visitors can enjoy the scenic boat ride along the beautiful Albanian coastline before reaching the island.

Fauna

Fauna includes 15 mammal species (including 8 species of bats such as the common pipistrelle, and soprano pipistrelle), 39 bird species (23 songbirds, 5 bird of preys, 3 pigeons, and 3 swifts.), 8 reptile species, 1 amphibian species, and 122 invertebrate species, including 113 insects, but their actual number is estimated to be higher. Among the insects are 40 are beetles, 16 butterflies, 22 heteroptera, 20 orthoptera, 5 dragonflies and 10 hymenoptera. The island’s diverse habitats support a variety of species including the dalmatian Algyroides lizard, green toad, Mediterranean house gecko, and numerous insect species.
